It never ceases to amaze me that no matter what the dreary winter weather of England spews forth or showers upon its soggy masses.... They still want ice cream.
It is available in every village shop, restaurant, point-of-interest kiosk, and even in individual-portion disposable cups in vending machines!
This is a country I can call home.
I feel very strongly that ice cream is a year-round staple. And I suspect the centuries of year-round shivering UK natives have in their blood would ensure their ability to handle it.
ReplyDeleteI don't get it either. It's cold an my kids want ice cream. Not hot chocolate. It's TOO hot.
ReplyDeleteI had an uncle who would try and get us kids to try a swig of whiskey in the cold weather. Needless to say we never saw that uncle again...
I know what you mean - do you have a Cold Stone in your area? this ice cream is my downfall... Cake batter ice cream with brownie and fudge... yum

ReplyDeleteI don't know what's wrong with me, but I'm not a big fan of Ice cream. I know I know ... don't hate me because I'm svelte due to lack of the ice cream (not to mention chocolate) addiction. However, to each their own and HAPPY ICE CREAM EATING TO YA!!!!

ReplyDeleteIn Atlanta, where we have winter for maybe 4 weeks, all of the ice cream shops are closed. Like, all of them. They close on October 1st, or something, when it's still 70 degrees. If you want ice cream, you have to risk your life to drive to the ghetto and get it from this local chain. Where people get shot sometimes.

ReplyDeleteThat's it, I'm moving. So cool. Our poor ice cream man who works this neighborhood extended his route all the way into December. I felt so bad I wanted to go buy an astro pop from him just to be nice. Probably not a banner year for ice cream trucks.
