Ode to Penelope Cruz

I saw Vicki Christina Barcelona this weekend and am now suffering a bit of a girl crush on Penelope Cruz. I'm still not sure how I missed this movie last year, but somehow managed to catch Elegy at the theaters. Both movies are great, due in large part to Ms. Cruz' charm and abilities. I also love Patricia Clarkson, who happens to be in both movies. Not to go on a total lesbian trip, not that there's anything wrong with that!, but if you haven't seen High Art.... Patricia Clarkson makes her small role as Ally Sheedy's drugged out girlfriend an Oscar-worthy one. She is hilariously bitchy. :) (I saw the movie 10 years ago and still remember her role perfectly--it was that good.)

Here are the trailers for Elegy and Vicki Christina Barcelona, both out on DVD. Your husband will thank you for either rental, as both contain lots of sexy-time action. ;-) Speaking of, does anyone else have a husband who actually rolls his eyes at sex or kissing in movies?? Mine never fails to make some derisive noise and dramatic eyeroll during romantic moments. A quick kick in the shin usually stops him, but it completely ruins the moment! lol

  5. I'm not a big fan of Cruz, but I love Clarkson. She is a beautiful woman who doesn't look like she hasn been nip tucked into permanent surprise.

  9. Yes, my hubs makes some kind of disturning noise when watching a love scene but it's to my advantage. If something is coming on that I want to see with lots and lots of sex in it, I'm guranteed to watch it in peace if I let him know ahead of time.

I didn't see Vicki Christina but it sure looks good. And Ben Kingsley, LOVE HIM. When is that coming out?? I haven't see trailers for that. Please don't tell me I already missed it!!!

  10. I just saw VCB on the plane. To be honest, all four of those women are worth girl-crushes! I love, love, love Clarkson, too. I saw her recently in The Station Agent . . . but that is definitely more quirky than sexy. LOVED her in Lars and the Real Girl.

  18. My ex used to always screw up the romantic parts. He hated sap. That's a good reason to divorce a man, I think. So I did. Tell your guy to beware!
