A Gift of A Solitude

Best Valentine's Present Ever? Or slap in the face that says "We're over!"

Let me explain.

If Daddy-007 tried to explain to me 10 years ago that his Valentine's "gift" for me was 48 hours of alone time, I would've wept and wondered why he was punishing me by saying he needed to get away from me.

Today, 48 hours of solitude is the most priceless gift he could give me! The self-sacrifice involved in taking all three of the boys away for two nights, the knowledge that I need this time to regroup, think, catch up on things and write, the thoughtfulness to offer it and mean it.... Priceless.

Of course, my first reaction when he offered me this gift was: What do you want? ...Oh my God, what did you DO?! lol ;^)

  1. Oh wow! Heck I would be happy if my hubs would just offer to get up with the baby during the night, maybe even sleep in the other room, just so I can have one night of sleep... lol... you are a lucky one!

You needed it, he gave it to you.
