Don't be jealous, but this photo was taken last Friday (on our second snow day) at Ann of
Ann's Rants house! We had an great time, the kids romped in their basement (the best play space I've ever seen in someone's house!) and we enjoyed a nice cup of tea over laughs. At what would end up being the
end of the playdate, she gave the kids a giant ball of homemade play dough. I marveled that she would give five boys free reign with play dough, but she pooh-poohed me and said it was a snap to clean up afterwards because the little bits that fall on the floor dry and then can be swept right up. Okaaaaaay, I wavered. After about ten minutes of play, when play dough started flying as CC taught her delightfully innocent eldest to blow pretend play dough SNOT out of his nose.... well, she realized why I was so incredulous. :)

Sorry, Ann!! Hope none of play dough got in your rugs! We can make chocolate chip cookies with the kids at my house for our next play date to make up for the play-dough debacle.
The above photo is of four of the kiddies at play, the one to the left is CC, covered in pretend snot. Charming, I know!

Sounds like you girls are having great fun... I am jealous! You know that there is no Italian word for playdate.
ReplyDeleteOh, Christine, that is tragic!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter got playdoh for xmas this year and I've been playing with it more than her. Probably one of my favorite toys as a kid...
ReplyDeleteMy TwT post
Is there going to be a part II? Yup, you got me on the play-dough.
ReplyDeleteThey had fun!! I love the snot picture! The things boys come up with!
ReplyDeleteLOOK AT ALL YOUR FOLLOWERS!! Almost at 100! Congrats, Amy!
ReplyDeleteLove the snot. That's something I would do!
ReplyDeleteWhat crazy fun! And, snot on top of it all, what else could a bunch of boys want? LOL!
ReplyDeleteToo funny, looks like everyone had a blast!
ReplyDeleteThats funny! You will be finding Play doe bits for months!!
ReplyDeletewanh! I'm jealous! Although that many boys in one location is a little frightening to me, play-doh, or not! =) LUCKY!
ReplyDeleteI realized when I was at the inlaws for Christmas that hardwood floors are the only way to go with kids. They also played with playdough, and it came right up!
ReplyDeleteDoublebanker: Playdoh rocks.... when it isn't smashed into the carpet. :)
ReplyDeleteRants: It didn't feel like a "gotcha!"... it was more like a *groan* WHY do my kids have to turn everything into madness?! lol
Lori D.: Yes, they have the gift of creativity, don' they?
Bree: Thanks for stopping by!
Mary Moo: Please don't tell me that! :^)
Frugal Angel: Hot dogs!! (And real boogers, too.)
Faith: We had a grand time. :)
Average Girl: Oh, I won't be.... RANTS will!
adlibby: I know... I wish we could all get together for playdates. :(
Kristina: Yeah, playdoh and carpets DO NOT MIX.
So fun, pretend snot is better than pretend poop! LOL...that's what all the playdough looks like when you mix all the colors together! ;)
ReplyDeleteWow - up there in Wisconsin you got yourself a little power blogger world!! The play date looks fun - and scary. I'm still in the mode of girl play dates for the most part but my lil' destructo is up and coming into playdates of his soon. So playdough snot is in my future!!
ReplyDeleteMomJen: Yes, I agree. I am so happy they had playdoh snot and NOT playdoh poop!
ReplyDeleteLee: It's so freakin' cold up here, what else are we going to do inside all day?
Playdoh snot...interesting. Better than REAL snot!
ReplyDeleteI banned playdoh from my house years ago when I discovered it does NOT come out of burbur carpet.
ReplyDeletePlaydoh snot huh.
The idea of you two together is making me sweat. Wish you were here :)
ReplyDeleteblueviolet: def. better than real snot. :)
ReplyDeleteJoanie: I only let my kids play with it about twice a year... and I always regret it. Not enough to ban it entirely, though. Thank goodness for the hardwoods! :)
Braja: Oh for goodness' sake! This is a family blog, Braja: keep it PG, wouldja?? ;^)
I hate playdoh!!! Happy ATWT!
ReplyDeleteIt's all fun and games until someone blows snot bubbles...well, that's my motto anyway. Looks like you guys had a blast! :)
