Almost 40—When Did This Sh*t Get So Real?

It has recently come to my attention that I am getting perilously close to the 40 year mark. I started noticing that something was amiss a couple years ago—first, I started hobbling like an aged crone when I, second, got up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. 

I feel like I can stop there. 

ISN'T THAT ENOUGH?? 


I am going to spend the next 18 days reflecting on turning 40—join me for the bitchfest, won't you?

    Ha. I think I started those things when I WAS 28! Ok, I can make it through the night, but all the shit creaking & groaning in my bones, or busting up? Not. Cool. :) Bitch away lady, you're HAWT. :p

      Not cool, at all! I seriously feel like I must be 90 some nights... and then, horrors!, I start to try and imagine what it will actually be like when I *am* 90!!

    I swear, you don't look close to 40 AT ALL. Color me shocked! I hear 40's not too bad, though. I'm sure you'll rock it.

    I am about 2 and a half years away from that number, and I welcome your insights. I feel like I am getting better as a person, but worse as a body. WTF!

      That is a great summation, Darlin! I felt like the wheels fell off the cart at some point during my 30s, but that everything is coming back together now.

    Early 40's were great. I had my 2nd girl at 40 and I think it keeps you young. I look like I am in my 30's but I am actually 48. My word of advice, sunscreen all over and a good dermatologist. Happy Happy 40!! It gets better.

    I turned 40 at the end of April. So weird. I don't feel like I'm 40. But I can't really say that it's been bad so far. Except for the "cougar" jokes. Those I could do without.
