Things I Should've Realized Well Before Doing

In what will come as a surprise to no one except me, it turns out that it's a total nightmare selling and buying houses in the States... whilst one is living in the UK.

I KNOW. I should've been able to discern that trying to do these complex and draining negotiations (even in ideal circumstances) from 3000+ miles and six time zones away would end up being pretty wretched.

We're sticking with it and trying to keep faith that everything will turn out as it should in the end. I also have to keep in mind that our worst case scenario is still pretty excellent... as it would simply mean that we'd end up moving back into our adorable house in Madison.

Not exactly a prison sentence.

In the meantime, I am loving having my mom here. She is visiting for almost a month and has already gotten four ten baskets of laundry folded and sorted, made dinner, and pruned all the unruly bracken in our garden. :)
