White Elephant Gifts Aren't Always Crapola (Depending on who you ask)

I signed up to participate in a White Elephant gift party a few weeks back at Margaret's blog Nanny Goats in Panties. You know how these things work, right? It is a gift exchange where one is afforded the opportunity to unload a gift you received that, though you might swear you thought you knew the person giving it, clearly that person does not know you or they never would've given you such a ridiculous piece of junk.  So, you re-gift the present to another friend and hilarity ensues.

My White Elephant trade partner was Babs, of Beetle's Memories & Ramblings blog fame, and I have to say that while I found the gift to be appropriately cheesy... My wanna-be-pyromaniac sons thought they were the best gifts ever! Words cannot do the present justice, so the kids helped me put together a video thank-you card that is as random as the gift.

Thanks for the fake candles, Babs! from Amy Windsor on Vimeo.

We have been dining by candlelight every evening since they arrived and my son, CC, has been going to sleep with his candle by his bedside.  They are a way bigger hit than a White Elephant deserves to be!
