Our favorite place to go with the kids has quickly become Mottisfont Abbey. Not only is is extremely close to where we live, it couldn't be more ideal for rambunctious boys. There is a beautiful stream that runs through the property that is teeming with rainbow trout, massive lawns, sloping areas perfect for rolling down, paths that run hither and yon through the trees, walled gardens filled with flowers and insects that just beg for little boy eyes to hunt out among the leaves, bridges, conkers galore, and a free-roaming cat named Murphy. :) For the photographer in the family, there are never-ending opportunities for capturing the natural beauty of the property AND my family.

Minus the chocolate sauce that went on our morning crêpes, of course.
Leftover bread heels make excellent rainbow trout food. So says this fella, anyway.

Thanks to Lotus, aka Sarcastic Mom, for hosting Weekly Winners!
Wow, that last shot is unbelievably perfect. Absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDelete(Although I do love a little slug stink eye too :)
That final snap of your boys IS fabulous, definitely one for framing. I really liked the first shot too, with the baggy pants and the golden leaves.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap I love that last photo of boys! I see Xmas card spot!
ReplyDeleteThe sweet happiness of youth in that last pic of the 3 kids! Nice.

ReplyDeleteI love your photos.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to Mottisfont Abbey yet even though I'm just the other side of the New Forest near Portsmouth. It looks like something my sons would enjoy too. Maybe next weekend I'll take them :-)
Oh, and slugs. Get used to them as they'll be everywhere when it rains (check inside too - they climb through windows).
Great photos!
ReplyDeleteI especially like the one of the boys running. Awesome.
Ooo They are all so great, but that last shot is particularly my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI *love* the shot of your boys running towards you. Those perfect trees in even spaced rows remind me so much of my time in England.
ReplyDeleteThese are all gorgeous!!!!!! I love the last one! And the trout shot is just perfect.
ReplyDeleteThe light and framing in that last shot is perfect! It's so hard to get pictures like that. You have seconds before the kids running at you are behind you.
