Weekend in Devon

Even as I swat hands away from lenses, pluck boys from imminent splashes into rivers, and offer small sounds of frustration after yelling matches between sons, magic seems to swirl in the golden light that filters through the intense green of the forests and meadows of Devon.

I love this new country so much.

(Check my flickrstream this week for more photos from our beautiful weekend in Southwest England. The kids are all home for the week as it is half-term break, so I don't know how much blogging will be going on.)

  4. I love these particular photos, how it's like being enveloped in this beautiful green scene. It doesn't even seem real, but like some mystical forest. I can understand why you'd be in love!

  6. Do you read What Kate Did Next? I think she grew up in Devon.

Tell Mo to take you ao a train ride. He meets the best people there.

  9. I don't know how I fell so behind on your blog.

    That toffee looks amazing.

And we both know that we are the WURST mamas, if not the scariest.

Off to check out your photos. That is, when I get a turn on the computer.

    OKAY 5.5, O-KAY!

  11. Wait - who was taking the picture? If you were able to capture something like that with a timer, then I think you're a photogenius. Or maybe I'm just easily impressed by anything that doesn't include automatic flash and anti-red eye...

  12. I want to come over for a walk. Maybe just not when Mo's around, he seems to attract the wrong sort.
