All You Gotta Do is Hold Him and Kiss Him and Squeeze Him and Love Him

In all the brouhaha of prepping for a certain blogging conference-that-must-not-be-named,* it appears that someone has been left out of the mix. Yes, my husband has been woefully abandoned as the Bitchin' Wife squeals over party invites, impending estrogen craziness, immersing herself in blog-land IRL (in real life), and all the fabulous outfits that her amazing friend and neighbor has loaned her for the event.

Normally, I would be annoyed that he is annoyed. But, I have to concede this time that he does have a point. The fact is, we are on the brink of not really seeing each other for the next three weeks! Prepare yourself to be bored or appalled at the insane Bitchin' Family Calendar:

I got to Wisconsin today to meet up with a certain other hawt lady blogger and we leave for Chicago on Thursday morning. Daddy-007 is bringing the kids to Wisconsin to on Friday for an overnight on the boat out on Lake Mendota. We will all meet at my sister's, in Chicago, on Sunday afternoon for a big family BBQ where all the little bitchin' cousins can run amock and we can get a chance to hang out before we move next month.

---now bear with me, this is where things start to get tricky---

We will drive back to Wisconsin all together on Sunday night. Monday, Daddy-007 will depart for a camping trip up in the Apostle Islands (a truly beautiful part of the world, if you haven't been) with at least two of the boys. That picture is of Bayfield, where you catch the ferry to Madeline Island, the largest of the Apostles.

Destructo, not a big fan of camping or swimming in freezing cold water, may or may not stay with me while I get an IUD put in my doc in WI. Whoopee. I'll be staying with a girlfriend, so Destructo should be fine and well-entertained while I convalesce . And I will be getting vicodin from the doc, so I should be fine, thanks for asking. :)

From WI, I will return to Iowa on Wednesday. Daddy-007 will get back from camping on Friday or Saturday..... Then he leaves for England on the 5th with his brother. He will have to get the sea container unpacked, buy a car, and get generally settled before we all arrive on the 16th. Phew.

In the meantime, I am staring down THIS:

Somehow, I need to figure out how I am packing a good portion of this mess into a suitcase (that I can manage) for the conference this weekend.

Sorry for the boring post, but there it is life. Now I'm going to get back to hugging, kissing, and squeezing my husband to let him know that I love him and will miss him and need him and can't live without him. :)

One more little thing (with apologies for how dark it is) a mini-video of me saying goodbye to my darling little Animal:

Look for me on Friday at Ann's Rants: I'll be letting my psyche hang out over there for her Free Association Friday.

I'll be uploading pictures to my flickr account (click the link over there in the sidebar) from BlogHer, if you want to stay on top of the madness! Here is my party schedule for the next three days:
Wish me luck!

*A blatant steal from a clever twitter peep, sorry I can't credit which one!

  1. Are the two of you taking the train by any chance? I'm leaving Mke's downtown station tomorrow am @ 8...just thought I'd ask.

And my "Mommy's leaving" conversation w/my 4yo was surprisingly similar to yours! I'm SOOO lucky that hubs happens to have off while I'm in Chi-town and he's bribing our boys with a fishing trip while I'm gone. ;-)

  6. 1. Have fun at the place not to be mentioned.

    2. I love Madeline Island and that whole extreme Northern Wisconsin Area.

    3. I'm about to have an IUD put in too. Since the birth control pill finally worked it's magic and almost killed me a few months back. I refer to that as Life Control.

  7. Forget all those clothes--it's all about the shoes and accessories.

I hope to meet you at Blogher--I'm one of the outsider/hanger-on-ers. Look for me.

  11. So out of all of that calendar-ness I seem to only be able to focus on this: IUD appointment.

Having had two already and psyching myself up for the third this Fall, I just keep thinking: If BlogHer really get THAT wild I am never gonna go!
