A loving ode to mom for Mother's Day? Or possibly a a cinematic tribute to the fine drinking establishments that the mothers of Wisconsin love. Either way, please enjoy the film that Ann of Ann's Rants and I collaborated on (meaning we are both posting the same video this week). It is another installment in the little vlogging adventure that we have going on with our friend Jessica, of bernthis.com comedic fame. Our topic today is, of course, motherhood. Click over to bernthis after you leave here to see Jessica's video.
I realized last week that I hadn't revealed the fact that I was a film major in college. So, if you've been wondering why my vlogs seem a little different than the normal bloggy-vlog.... the degree in Radio/TV/Film might explain it. By the way, my parents are accepting donations as repayment for my incredibly expensive degree that I only briefly used professionally and am now using exclusively in Blogland.
On a technical note: Please click the little HD button on the bottom right-hand side of the YouTube viewer (it will turn red when activated); it takes a little longer to download, but the difference in quality is amazing. Also, if you actually watch it on YouTube, please rate it, comment on it, tweet it, etc. I appreciate the help getting it out there. :)
Now, go check out Jessica's video or head over to Ann's Rants and leave a comment telling her how hawt she is when she polkas. Hilarity will ensue. We'll all be back with more video shenanigans in a couple weeks.
P.S. I came back in at 4:19pm and took out the old video and replaced it with a new one that is the correct version. My apologies for being a dumbass and posting a broken version for the past 16 hours. *pained sigh and wringing hands*
HILARIOUS!! Amy, that is so clever! (And even though I hadn't really intended to, I watched it all the way through.)
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to know what a cheese curd looks like; the name is a bit off-putting. And do they REALLY serve beer in boot glasses? The cell phone bit is one of my favorites.
Oh my goodness I haven't laughed this hard in a long time! BTW the wurst looks sooo good.
ReplyDeletethat was a whole bootload of beer. . .
ReplyDeleteSo funny! I'm going to a bachelorette party this weekend and I have a feeling that I'm going to be singing that song! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for my award!! I'm going to blog about it tomorrow I think. Thanks so much!
OMG. I'm hopping in the car this minute and taking a road trip. I think you're only 8 hours from Toledo, right?
ReplyDeleteYou know you're a genius right?
ReplyDeleteSince I'm an equal opportunity viewer, I raced over from Ann's and watched this lovey epic in wide-screen and in HD over here.
ReplyDeleteYou're a shoo-in for best screen play, editing and cheese curd category.
Loved it.
that was great! mine of course would be wine..but thats for another day. i love this video, fantastic mother's day tribute
ReplyDeleteThe end killed me ladies. Loved it. Just invite me next time, no? Many have said I know my way around a boot, but perhaps they were referring to footwear. I'd definitely have to learn how to polka. My ethnic dance skills stop at the hora.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day!
I can't watch it. I get a message that says it's a private video.
ReplyDeleteI had the same problem Joanie M did. Bummer.
ReplyDeleteOK, it's fixed! If there are any more problems, though, you can see it direct on YouTube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0s40hY30gc
ReplyDeleteAMMMMMYYYYYYY I am DYING!! I can't watch it. Something about being sent an invitation?!?!?!?!?
ReplyDeleteAnd PS, you bet your boot of beer we will have a HUGE whopping get together at Blogher! Me and my sassy classy roomate!
See, if you'da called me, I coulda told you that you're supposed to SHARE that boot!
ReplyDeleteAnd I would've helped you share it.
Pearl
It's working now. Click on the little arrow in the blottom left corner instead of the big one on the middle of the screen.
ReplyDeleteI love it!!! Funny funny stuff!

Just watched it over at Ann's. As I said there, the ending was the best where it looks like you left the kids waiting in the car while the two of you drinkin' the afternoon away. Great Vlog!!
ReplyDeleteJust watched this on Ann's site. Hilarious. Booking my flight to Wisconsin right now - I MUST have some of those cheese curds.
ReplyDeleteOh my kindred spirit Amy. So true . Nothing is better than beer. That was a gem, well worth waiting for. So much cinematic talent I am very impressed. I love how you killed the entire boot with the power to move onto the next.
ReplyDeleteYou should've taken a picture of the hot dog with the boots LOL. I think I would have been totally wasted after that boot of beer. Was that like 3 beers in that glass??? happy Mother's Day to you.
ReplyDeleteI watched this last night when you first posted it but was so groggy from all the #MNO action that I watched it again today. You ladies know how to have a good time! And your degree shines through in the quality of this fine production :D srsly!
ReplyDeleteI am in awe, just in awe.
ReplyDeleteI have never ever seen a beer that big.
ReplyDeleteStill don't think you guys could be the wurst moms. Do you ever watch Cops? ;)
Have a great Mother's Day!!
And would you recommend the Essen House as an establishment to visit? It looks very appropriately true to its German roots. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteYou managed to make fried cheese curds and wurst look delicious. That's quite a feat! I prefer schnitzel for my funny-sounding German food, and actual cheese for my cheese-like foods.
ReplyDelete(No matter how many times those people at the Mars Cheese Castle try to push the cheese curds on me, I'm not getting burned again.)
Man, am I thirsty now...
