Make It Work, People.

I just got back from seeing Tim Gunn at the Women's Expo. What a fabulous, nice, genuine man!! He was so wonderful and personable and just really super sweet. And I got to meet him! One of my fashionista friends who is hooked on Project Runway asked me about a month ago if I wanted to come with her and her sister to see him, as she knows that I love the show, too. We got our tickets to the VIP banquet, where we could be in a smaller group of 150 people for a special "meet and greet" with him. It ended up being a big Q & A and he answered a ton of questions about fashion, about the show, and his Guide to Style show. My favorite bit of info was about who he thought was the most troublesome designer to come through the show: He said that we probably think he'd say Kenley from last season, but, in fact, it was Vincent from season 3 (I think) was the biggest pain. He described this story of bringing all the designers to Paris that season, the first night there they all went to this restaurant together that Tim had picked out and had called ahead of time to make sure they had some vegan options for Vincent as he was vehemently vegan. The restaurant worked with him and had three dinner selections that Vincent would be able to choose from. So, they get there an Tim sees V. looking at the menu quizzically and tells him that he there should be a vegan option for him.... Vincent looked at him and said, "Why would I order vegan?" Well.... and V. was just like, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do!" and ordered a leg of lamb for dinner! So abrasive. A little show gossip, for those of you who care! I will post a picture of me and my new BFF Tim when my friend emails me the photo. He really was just so nice. And he said I was fabulous. (With only a little prompting ;)

  1. I spent a full day once during the first season laying on the couch with a screaming and hangover watching. :-)
Very cool that he said you were fabulous!

  3. It's good to see that Tim Gunn is the same on camera as he is off. So refreshing!
