The answer to a technophile's prayers!

My sister just turned me on to the new Mac Mini! A solution to my dilemma in a brushed aluminum 2"x6"x4" box...with a price tag that is about 1/3 of the price of a regular mac. Now, still, I have to admit, this is pretty ridiculous that I would be willing to shell out that kinda money just so I can print out adorable little photo books. Yes, I see this. However: This fits into my master plan, too, so justification is just a charge away, my friends.

Since the television was removed from the main floor of the house (yes- shock! horror! surprise! to those of you who didn't already know this) I have been trying to figure out a solution to get a tv into my kitchen without actually putting a TV in my kitchen, know what I mean? Well... let those pieces fall into place and see how all my techie/chef/live-in-my- kitchen-AND-in-front-of-my-computer-dreams come true!!!

A mini Mac with a flat panel monitor and wireless keyboard/mouse in the kitchen answers all desires. You see, I just found out that one can hook their TiVo to a wireless adaptor and then transfer shows to their PC to burn to DVD.... a bit convoluted, as this is currently only available to PC people, but concievably I could burn the DVDs and then play on my mini kitchen mac (and it will be available to mac users soon, one would hope. ) AND I could listen to my iTunes, the internet, surf the net, and have access to all the cool things a mac offers- ALL in the kitchen.

SWEET.

Not SO easy to attain- but who wants true plug n play, anyway. The fun is in the challenge.
